└──────────────────────────┘
For use on bbs's as a door or to better your backup system
made for pcboard 14+ and SPITFIRE BBS
This Program Will Ask a caller for a filename and (Vol# Reg. Ver. Only)
It will not take any wildcard charactors from the user, The reason being
if you have 60 meg of files backed up on the tape he or she could restore
60 meg to your hard disk in one shot and we dont want that, Thats the reason
your using the RESTORE DOOR (NO ROOM).
The F10 key begins CHAT mode (ESC quits)
the F8 key allows you to boot the user off
running PCBoard 14+ or SPITFIRE then the parameter /P=14 must
appear on the command line.
SPITFIRE sysop's must download the file SFPCBDR.ZIP that will convert
the doors.dat file to pcboard.sys file you can get this file from
Buffalo Creek's BBS.......(Home of SPITFIRE BBS)..515-225-8496..38400 Baud
If the modem is "locked" at some speed (speed between
bbs system and modem is constant, speed negotiated with
user by modem -- as might be done with an HST 9600)
then the parameter /C alone forces port to 19200, or
you may specify speed too -- e.g. /C=19200
The Program runs off the tape software that came with your drive
(TAPE.EXE) COLORADO TAPE BACKUP SYSTEM it uses the command operation lines
tapedoor uses [TAPE RESTORE \TAPE\FILENAME C:\RESTORE\ /V=#]
The file Pcboard.sys that came with the program is for users who wish
to run TAPEDOOR with there tape drive, But not as a door, don't add the
/P=14 to the command line just TAPEDOOR is all you need to enter to run
the program and dont forget to change the com port!!! in TAPEDOOR.CFG
to COM0.
Now! What You Must Do !
You must back up your files from any drive from a dir of \tape\
The file are restored to C:\RESTORED\ where you will have to setup
your BBS to find the files for download.
You have to edit the file FILES.LST , These are the files that are
backed up on your tape, Open that file and it will tell you how.
You must have the tape system files for your tape drive in the dir
your running TAPEDOOR.EXE or in path. If You Have A Problem with your
memory try to get the program PKLITE this will compress the exe.
and you have to set up your board to del the files that have been
restored to the hard disk, you can do this by the bat file that boots
the board a small command like this
c:
cd\restored
del *.zip
del *.arc
del *.txt and so on.
cd\sf <--- back to bbs dir
SPITFIRE <--- boot bbs
This is the TAPEDOOR.CFG edit this file to your needs, if you would like
to use TAPEDOOR in a local mode you must change the comport to COM0,
This is because the program makes a command in the bat CTTY COM# to let
the caller see the file being restored (you will not see this running as a
door) if you don't change the port to 0 the system will lock up.
Ray <---- SYSOP FIRST NAME
Tracey <---- SYSOP LAST NAME

COM2 <---- COMPORT
